About Scottdale, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Scottdale is a census-designated place located in DeKalb County, GA, and as of 2010 its population was approaching 11,000 residents. This community is centered between Clarkston and Decatur on East Ponce de Leon Ave. Its boundaries include Interstate 285 and the Stone Mountain Freeway, and Scottdale consists of 3.5 square miles of total area. Scottdale is named after Colonel George Washington Scott, the founder of the Scottdale Cotton Mill during the late 1800s. Many residents commute to nearby cities for work, and high school students will attend courses at Druid Hills High School in Decatur.

Scottdale is home to several unique attractions, despite the community’s small size. The OnStage Atlanta Theatre Company is located here and hosts a variety of local productions throughout the year. Art enthusiasts may prefer a trip to MudfireClayworks and Gallery, as they can buy artwork and supplies here or learn a new craft by taking a class. There are also a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities in this community, including Cedar Park, Needham Park, and the Tobie Grant Park and Recreation Center.

Residents of Scottdale and the rest of the Atlanta Metro area will enjoy four distinct seasons over the course of a year. A cool and rainy autumn will bring on a chilly winter. While snowfall is sporadic, ice storms with freezing rain are a real threat. Residents will need to ensure that their heat pump or furnace is working properly before these harsh systems strike, so it is recommended that they take the opportunity to have their units serviced in the autumn.

The winter months will melt away into a warm spring, and although temperatures are pleasant, strong storms are common. These storms will linger into a hot and humid summer. To keep homes safe and comfortable, Scottdale area residents will want to invest in a home air conditioning system to make the most severe weather bearable.
